A Setup That Has It All
For this project, the clients supplied all of their own appliances, and there were a few to work into the design. They chose a Napoleon 44" Built-In BBQ, Schmick fridge, ice machine, sink and tap, giving them everything they need in the one space.
Everything has been worked into the design neatly, giving the clients a kitchen that’s just as practical as it is good-looking.
A Little Bit of Mountain Ash
For the cabinetry, the clients went with our AliBattens in Mountain Ash - and there’s definitely no shortage of them in this kitchen!
The timber-look finish brings some warmth into the space and looks great against the grey benchtop.
A mix of cupboards and drawers means there’s a spot for all the BBQ gear, serving platters and everything else that somehow ends up living outside.
A Closer Look at the Benchtop
For the benchtop, the clients chose 60mm Corian in Dove, which pairs really nicely with the Mountain Ash AliBattens.
Dove has a soft grey finish that keeps things fairly neutral, while the thicker 60mm edge gives the benchtop a bit more presence across such a long kitchen. It also helps balance out the detail in the AliBattens without competing with them.
There’s plenty of usable bench space on either side of the BBQ and around the sink, giving the clients room for food prep, serving and everything else that comes with entertaining outside.
It’s a simple combination, but the Dove and Mountain Ash together just work.
