Our secrets to easy outdoor entertaining - the great Aussie tradition

Alfresco living is a way of life in Australia. We love to entertain outdoors and take advantage of our beautiful weather. If you're looking for Alfresco kitchen inspiration, you've come to the right place! This blog post will discuss our favourite ideas for creating the perfect outdoor cooking experience.

At LimeTree Alfresco, we've created over 1,000 custom-built outdoor kitchens for our customers, so we have the expertise and experience to help guide you through the decision-making process.

Five essential factors that could make or break your kitchen

1. Benchtops

One of the most important aspects of any Alfresco kitchen is the benchtop. You want to make sure you choose a material that is durable and easy to clean. We recommend Corian and Dekton benchtops - both are stylish and modern, durable, and perfect for your outdoor kitchen.

The benchtops we install at LimeTree also have options for different thicknesses - a thicker benchtop can look like a real treat for a large kitchen project.

2. Appliances

When choosing Alfresco kitchen appliances, we recommend going for quality over quantity. A few well-chosen appliances will last you much longer than a bunch of cheap ones that need to be replaced regularly. We partner with specialist suppliers like Beefeater and Ziegler & Brown to provide quality BBQs that will make entertaining a breeze. We're also happy to incorporate your trusty BBQ into a new installation.

Alfresco kitchens are all about making the most of our beautiful weather, so choose reliable, good-quality appliances so you can relax and soak up the summer vibes.

3. Sinks & Taps

When it comes to sinks and taps, you have a few different options. You can go with a traditional stainless steel look or opt for something unique like copper or stone. A great feature we recently installed in our Elsternwick Feature Project is a custom-made cover that sits flush with the benchtop.

This cover protects the sink from accumulating leaves, and when the sink is not in use, it extends the available bench space so that you can cook with greater ease. The Elsternwick project also features wall-mounted taps, another great space-saving option.

4. Outdoor Refrigerators

Another important consideration for your Alfresco kitchen is the fridge. You want to make sure you choose a fridge that is big enough to accommodate all of your food and drink but not so big that it takes up too much space. We recommend a compact fridge or wine cooler for the perfect balance. We highly recommend that you install a task-specific outdoor fridge.

Outdoor fridges are designed to handle high temperatures and humidity, and double or triple-glazed doors prevent condensation from forming on the glass & forming puddles on your floor.

5. Barbecue

Finally, no Alfresco kitchen is complete without a BBQ. It's the centre of the grilling and cooking action, where people will often congregate to 'supervise' the cooking & share a beer.

We partner with specialist suppliers like Beefeater and Ziegler & Brown to provide quality BBQs to complete your outdoor cooking experience. Every dollar spent on the barbecue is worthwhile and will make it a pleasure to cook up a feast for your friends.
